The launching ceremony of the WE Maker Space for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Youths and the School of Entrepreneurship's 10th anniversary convention were held in JNU's International Conference Hall on Dec. 18. With the theme Integrate and Innovate to Create the Future, the event gathered creators from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to address development issues. More than 100 leaders and representatives of enterprises and alumni associations attended.

JNU President Song Xianzhong said that after more than 10 years of continuously exploring ways to cultivate high-quality innovative and entrepreneurial talents, JNU had achieved fruitful results in the practice of innovation and entrepreneurship education and formed a system with JNU characteristics. He expressed his hope that the WE Maker Space would maintain its original intention of serving the youth of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and strive to become a cradle for young entrepreneurs to work toward their dreams.
Prof. Zhang Yaohui, founding dean of the School of Entrepreneurship, who has been selected for the National Special Support Program for High-Level Talents, said the school had made efforts to promote JNU's work in education in entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation. He said it had offered new courses related to entrepreneurship; promoted the transformation of entrepreneurial achievements in science and technology; encouraged students to participate in entrepreneurial practice, and blazed an entrepreneurial trail with JNU characteristics.
This year, the WE Maker Space optimized its physical space with the support of Luxiang Fund for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China’s Guangzhou Committee.
The innovation and entrepreneurship bases co-founded by the WE Maker Space and the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions, along with the Entrepreneurial Space and Sunwah Group in Hong Kong, were established at the convention. The signing ceremony of cooperation between the WE Maker Space and GungHo Space in Hong Kong and the Entrepreneurial Space and Professional Entrepreneurial Space was also held.

Wu Chuntao, a JNU alumnus who is chairman of Yongcui Shareholding Co., Ltd., donated one million yuan to the School of Entrepreneurship's Construction and Development Fund on behalf of the preparatory group of the Club for Young People from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Dean He Wenqing said the school would take its 10th anniversary as an opportunity to integrate professional and entrepreneurial education for a brighter future.
