JNU won five awards in the 14th National Conference on Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship, organized by the Ministry of Education, at Northwestern Polytechnic University in Xi'an from Dec. 10 to 12. The five awards included Outstanding Paper, Most Creative Project Award and Outstanding Organization. JNU ranked first among the competitors. This was the ninth consecutive time JNU has ranked in the national conference and the second in a row it has won Outstanding Organization.

Students from the School of Medicine won Outstanding Paper for “A Research on the Effect of Dex on the Development of Embryonic Central Nervous System and Mechanism.” College of Science and Engineering students won the Best Creative Project and Most Popular Project awards for “Controlled Growth of Vanadium Oxide Nanostructures and Its Application in Photodetection.” Students from the College of Chinese Language and Culture students also won a Most Popular Project award for “Role Play Games Ancient Poetry Culture Mobile Game Design.” The five tutors were rated Excellent Tutors.
This national conference received 847 submissions recommended by universities and government education departments. Among them, 514 projects (199 innovative academic papers, 250 innovative presentation projects and 65 entrepreneurship promotion programs) from 299 universities reached the finals. The projects selected by experts show the latest innovation and entrepreneurship education achievements of universities across the country.
