JNU's Light Chaser team won the gold medal in the 46th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) in Shanghai on Nov. 28. It was JNU's best result in its history in the ICPC competition.
Two JNU teams, Light Chaser and Stop-Go Motivation, qualified for the competition in Guangzhou.
The official competition kicked off on Nov. 14. Each team is composed of one coach and three players. The team shares a computer and completes 12 English programming questions within the specified time, with real-time ranking and real-time evaluation by machine. After five hours, Light Chaser was also the national runner-up, and Stop-Go Motivation won a bronze medal.
The competition attracted 685 teams from 254 universities in China, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Hong Kong University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University and JNU. More than 3,000 contestants were selected by the online qualifying round. Finally, 35 teams won gold medals, 70 teams won silver medal and 105 teams won bronze.
ICPC is recognized as the world's largest and highest-level international programming competition for college students, with the largest number of participants. It aims to enable college students to fully demonstrate their ability to analyze and solve problems with computers. Its award certificates are also recognized by world-famous computer companies and universities.
