Liu Jun, rector of City University of Macau (CityU Macau), visited Jinan University with three delegates on Nov. 23. JNU Vice President Zhang Hong met with the delegation.
Zhang extended a cordial welcome, then described JNU’s recent development in enrollment scale, discipline advantages and campus construction.
Liu summarized CityU Macau's structure of student pool structure and disciplinary development, and he expressed his ardent desire for cooperation with mainland universities. As JNU and CityU Macau both show great advantages in education on Chinese culture education, research on the Belt and Road Initiative, the subject of traditional Chinese medicine and health, and other academic fields. Liu proposed that the two universities advance substantial cooperation.
The two schools agreed to strengthen cooperation by jointly promoting cooperation between schools and enterprises and launching applicable projects. More student exchange programs will be conducted to provide students with more opportunities to study abroad have outbound study in the context of the pandemic. In addition, both schools will work to foster talents in Chinese language and Portuguese language education to enhance cross-cultural communication, contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative. They will also promote research and industrialization of life sciences and comprehensive health. As for talent training in of cultural heritage and the creative industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, they will conduct more cooperative programs.
