The School of Art/Pearl River Film Academy showed the best student films from JNU's animation program in the International Conference Hall on Oct. 15.
In attendance were Li Xuewu, dean of the college; Vice Deans Li Jie and Zhu Guimin; Huang Shaotang, deputy secretary of the college's general Party branch; Ma Chao, director of the New Media Arts Department; Huang Ye, CEO of the anime production company Green Monster Team; Lao Ziliang, director of the Animation Producing Department of Big Firebird Cultural Media Co., Ltd.; and all teachers and students in the department.

As a brand activity of the department, the festival has been held for nine years, showing the year's best animation films from the department. This year 18 works were screened.
In the opening speech, Zhu said the prosperity of the film and television animation market in the last two years had brought higher requirements for animation quality. He emphasized that school training should be combined with social needs, not only to develop existing teaching characteristics and experience, but also to keep up with the times and industry development needs.
After the films were shown, a communication session between specially invited guests and students was held. The first guest, Huang Shaotang, used his personal experience to talk about the industry philosophy of animation producers and shared his industry experience through three personal photos.
Lao used humorous language to share the methodology of learning animation painting.
At the end of the screening, the guests presented awards to the winning students. Lian Yahui's Alone was named Best Work of the Year, and Song Qingyang's Dream-Eating Tapir was Most Popular Short Film of the Year.
