The third Alumni Work Conference and the Alumni Innovation Development Forum were held at JNU's Zengxianzi Science Center on Nov. 14, with the online meeting live-streamed to Hong Kong, Sydney, Tokyo and Shanghai attracting over 100,000 viewers.
JNU Vice President Hong An said in the opening speech that in the university's 115 years, nearly 400,000 alumni have graduated and prospered on five continents.
Dai Wenwei, vice chairman of Guangdong Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, said the province was the home of the largest number of returned overseas Chinese, with over 8,000 organizations of returned overseas Chinese at all levels. He said he hoped the federation and outstanding alumni at home and abroad could work together to build a new platform promoting mutual benefit, common prosperity and universal access to contribute much more to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Initiative.

Ma Youheng, president of the JNU Alumni Association, pointed out that next year would be the association's 30th anniversary and said he hoped alumni would give their advice to help development leap ahead.

JNU President Song Xianzhong delivered a report on alumni work. At present, JNU has 137 alumni organizations on five continents, including 59 overseas alumni organizations, and since 2017, the association's yearly fundraising has leaped from 10 million RMB to 100 million to 300 million.
A ceremony was also held to present awards for the Top 10 Outstanding Alumni Associations, Top 10 Ethical Alumni Associations, Top 10 Leadership Presidents, Elite Alumni, and the Peach and Plum Award to recognize alumni organizations, alumni cadres and teachers who have made excellent contributions to JNU's alumni work.
The Alumni Innovation and Development Forum was held in three sessions, focusing on building the characteristics of alumni organizations, exploring the linkage mechanism and increasing mutual empowerment of college alumni. Many constructive comments were made at the forum.
