JNU's College of Information Science and Technology celebrated the 20th anniversary of its founding on Shipai Campus on Oct. 31.
JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng, President Song Xianzhong, and 400 teachers and students attended the ceremony, looking back together on its history.

On behalf of JNU, Lin offered his congratulations and pointed out that the college had yielded fruitful results in disciplinary development, talent-training, scientific innovation and social service. He also said he expected the college to see this anniversary as a new beginning for further advancement, making greater contributions to emerging engineering education at JNU.
Li Zhetao, dean of the college, reviewed its developments in discipline construction, teaching and research, building a teaching staff, and talent-training. He paid tribute to former leaders, retired staff members and current faculty members.

During the ceremony, the foundation ceremony of the Education Development Fund of the College of Information Science and Technology of and JNU’s New Confidence Fund was also held. The college also signed strategic cooperation agreements with Venustech, QI-ANXIN Technology Group Inc. and Beijing DBSEC Technology Co., Ltd., and a cooperative agreement on 5G application laboratory with China Telecom.
The Information Technology High-Profile Forum was held immediately after the ceremony. Luo Zhiquan, academician of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada, vice president of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and dean of Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data, spoke on Applied Mathematics and Communication Network Technology: The Models and Optimization Methods of 5G Network Performance. The ceremony was live-streamed on WeChat.
