Wang Yiyang, head of the Guangdong Department of Culture and Tourism, and a delegation of five  visited the World Overseas Chinese Archive at JNU on Oct. 27.

Liu Zenghe, JNU library curator, gave an overview of the library and basic information on the archive's origins and construction. He also reported in detail the measures and achievements in constructing resources on overseas Chinese literature, promoting Chinese culture, and performing development and research.

Wang fully affirmed the rare value and practical significance of the archive's documents related to overseas Chinese and made some suggestions. He said he hoped the archive would strengthen the collection, identification and standardized management of the collection of physical materials, and join the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Museum system. He also said he hoped people could dig deeper into the historical value of the exhibits in the collection and learn more about overseas Chinese.

The delegation also visited the JNU's History Museum, achievements exhibition, special collection of ancient books in the library and newspaper library.
