To express holiday greetings and best wishes to all faculty members, JNU held its 2021 Teachers' Day Award Ceremony on Sept. 10.
JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng, President Song Xianzhong and other school leader attended, along with the head of the Faculty Council delegation. Students and faculty members watched the livestream online.
The ceremony extended sincere congratulations to excellent teachers, deep respects to faculty and staff members with 30 years' experience, hearty gratitude to retirees and a warm welcome to new faculty members in a swearing-in ceremony
Lin extended his heartfelt compliments and blessings to all faculty members on behalf of the JNU Party Committee. He also paid his deep respects to retired staff members who had made significant contributions to JNU's development.

Song announced the Notice on 2020-2021 JNU Significant Achievements Prize and Outstanding Contributions Prize and the Notice on 2020-2021 JNU Advanced Collectives and Individuals in Teaching and Researching. He then congratulated the honored collectives and individuals., He said he hoped they would continue their efforts, play an exemplary and leading role, and work together with all faculty members to build a high-quality teaching team.

The ceremony commended individuals and teams who made key and significant achievements and contributions in the 2020-21 school year, as well as advanced collectives and individuals who received teaching and research awards and were commended by higher-level departments.
Representing the outstanding teachers, He Rongrong, assistant dean of the JNU School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a professor in the College of Pharmacy, reviewed her own growth process in her speech. She said she appreciated JNU for introducing a series of talent-training programs, which encouraged her to continue to work hard to realize the value of life, serve the country and pay back the alma mater. Xu Youwei, a student in the School of Journalism and Communication's broadcasting and host major, expressed his respect to the beloved teachers on behalf of all JNU students.

The ceremony paid tribute to faculty and staff members who have worked at JNU for 30 years. It also included an honor and retirement ceremony for faculty and staff members who have retired in 2021 and an oath-taking ceremony for the new faculty and staff members who have joined since September 2020.
