A volunteer team from JNU assisted Guangzhou's Nansha district in successfully fighting the recent Covid-19 outbreak. Its medical spirit of Respecting life, saving lives, dedicated and caring celebrated the Party's 100th anniversary and carried out satisfactory work for the people of Nansha.
More than 100 volunteers assisting the Nansha District Disease Control and Prevention Center served over 3,500 hours. Among them, 21 volunteers were responsible for epidemiological investigation and on-site sampling, tracing 35 contacts. Volunteers assisting the Nansha District Second People's Hospital and the Nansha District Maternal and Child Health Hospital served 400 hours and more than 8,000 people. Volunteers at the Hongling Vaccination Site and the Huangge Sports Park vaccination site worked independently at 15 posts collecting information and at 14 sites for over 40,000 vaccinations.
Returning to JNU by special bus on the morning of July 2, the volunteers were warmly greeted with flowers by the faculty and students of the College of Medicine. Leaders of JNU and relevant departments and divisions attended.
At the ceremony, Sun Yu, deputy secretary of the JNU Party Committee, expressed a warm welcome after the volunteers' triumph and expressed appreciation for their outstanding performance of their assistance.

Hong Jian, the team leader, and Xu Dingxin, its student representative, said they would continue the spirit of fighting the epidemic in their future study and work, practicing the responsibility and commitment of medical workers in the new era.
