Nature Communications published online a collaborative paper involving a JNU team on June 3. The paper, A functional motif of long noncoding RNA Nron against osteoporosis,” was produced by JNU Prof. Wang Yifei's team from College of Life Science and Technology;the teams of Profs. Wang Xiaogang and Zhang Yongbiaofrom Beihang University; and Prof. Sun Yao's team from Tongji University.
Gene therapy is the frontier of precision medicine and the core field of medical development in the 21st century. After six years of research coordinating multiple disciplines, the teams proposed a concept of precise gene therapy for lncRNA functional elements; constructed a screening system for lncRNA functional elements based on an information algorithm; developed a cell-targeted delivery system for osteoporosis gene therapy; and realized precise gene therapy for osteoporosis in animal models.
