JNU held the 2021 Looking at China-Guangdong Youth Film Project screening on May 9,presenting 10 short film, including Back to Nature and The Song of Bluebird.
The activity, on the theme Family, Homeland and Country is a practice project of cultural experience and video creation, hosted by Beijing Normal University's Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture and undertaken by the Arts College of JNU/Zhujiang Film Academy. The team headed to cities including Shanwei, Guangzhou and Zhuhai to film stories of Chinese's feelings about families and homeland from foreigners' point of view and to focus on Chinese family culture. Twenty-eight foreign-students directors and 12 Chinese producers from the Academy of Arts participated in the filming. Focusing on the unique Cantonese embroidery, dim sum, ancestral temple and Fisherman's Song Culture in Guangdong, they recorded ordinary families, charming Guangzhou, and developing China. These films showed the thinking and collision between Chinese and foreign cultures while spread Chinese culture to the world.
