Huang Yaojia, an alumnus in College of Chemistry and Materials 1965 class and the honorary president of the College Alumni Association, returned to main campus to visit his teachers, classmates and juniors on May 12. Huang, a well-known overseas Chinese leader in Costa Rica, also visited the Panyu campus to share lectures and  interact with students.

Vice President Zhang Ronghua thanked Huang for supporting the school, college and alumni, and for his efforts in studying Costa Rica's basic national conditions, the development of overseas Chinese and the distribution of JNU alumni there. He spoke highly of Huang's contribution to promoting friendly relations between China and Costa Rica and their economic and trade cooperation. Zhang also welcomed the children of overseas Chinese, including Huang's, to return to China and JNU for further studies.
