Thirteen delegates from JNU's School of Nursing, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University and the nursing department of the JNU-affiliated Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital attended the first Asian Nursing Forum in Shanghai from May 7 to 9. At the forum, Chen Weiju, dean of the School of Nursing, delivered a keynote speech titled Thinking on Clinical Nursing Education Reform: Improving Quality Through Education and Making Progress Through Research.
The forum was hosted by Fudan University Zhongshan Hospital and co-hosted by 32 well-known major hospitals and related higher nursing schools in China, including JNU's, on the theme of Innovation Drives Nursing and Intelligence Energizes Asia. It promoted friendship and communication with counterparts from different countries; established an efficient pattern through cooperation among nursing schools, research institutes and enterprises; and provided a communication platform for the international nursing community to jointly advance cooperation and achievements among Asian countries in the hygiene and health sector.
Highlighting the new era, new pattern and new journey of 14th Five-Year Plan on nursing, the forum was organized with 12 subthemes, including health care to fight Covid-19, intelligent nursing, nursing education, quality safety, discipline construction, innovation and reform, product transformation, nursing rehabilitation, and cross and integration.
More than 100 experts and scholars from China and other countries, including Singapore, Korea, Japan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Finland and Indonesia, gathered to discuss the latest scientific research in nursing management and other fields in Asia and other parts of the world.
