A team project led by Wang Ying, a researcher at the First Affiliated Hospital of JNU, has won second prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award, according to Decision on the 2020 Awards for Outstanding Achievements (Science and Technology) in Scientific Research in Institutions of Higher Learning released by the Ministry of Education. The project is titled Pathogenesis and Clinical Diagnosis Application of Major Psychiatric Disorders Based on New Neuroimaging Technology.

The ministry established the awards to encourage teachers and scientists in institutions of higher education to carry out scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation. These goals are built around national strategic, economic and social development needs on the frontier of world science and technology. Promoting the cultivation of innovative talents in colleges and universities, the annual awards are given for Natural Science, Technological Invention, Science and Technology Progress, and Youth Scientists.
Wang, a researcher and doctoral supervisor, is also deputy director of JNU's Institute for Clinical and Translational Research on Psychiatric Disorders and deputy director of the Clinical Translational Laboratory for Molecular and Functional Imaging (Guangzhou Key Laboratory) of the First Affiliated Hospital of JNU.
