The finals of the Chinese Poetry Conference, part of JNU's Knowledge Contest Series in Chinese Culture, concluded on April 22. This year's contest attracted over 4,200 JNU students from five campuses on 41 teams, setting off enthusiasm for learning Chinese poetry that calls on students to comprehend the soul of China, and savor the essence of Chinese poetry.”
This year coincides with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 115th anniversary of JNU's founding. Focusing on Chinese cultural identity, JNU's Sihai College has carried out activities to help students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas appreciate the inherent charm of fine Chinese culture through traditional Chinese talent training, knowledge competitions on Chinese culture, cultural experiences and exhibitions, and cultural excursions.
Five teams advanced to the finals, presenting the entire audience with the beauty of Chinese poetry.
Conference highlights
The Bi Xia Sheng Hua team from Sihai College placed first, the Cai Wang Gao Ya team from the School of Management second, the “Han Mo Liu Li” team of students from both School of Management and Sihai College third. With the contest combining Chinese poetry, songs and dancing, Tie Jia Hong Zhuang, a performance of poetry recitation, singing and dancing, gave the audience a sparkling infusion of ancient Chinese melodies and modern instruments, and a chance to appreciate the image of Chinese poetry.

Held both online and offline, the Knowledge Contest Series has created a cultural feast for students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas, as well as Chinese people, with activities including a daily poetry quiz, a poetry conference, a week promoting poetry culture, experiences in Chinese culture, and an exhibition of students' calligraphy.
