A JNU paper, Evaluation of Body-Centric Locomotion With Different Transfer Functions in Virtual Reality, was accepted as an oral presentation at the 28th IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces(IEEE VR 2021). Sixteen regular papers were received from scholars and academic units in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao (http://ieeevr.org/2021/program/papers/). Prof. Gao Boyu, an associate professor in the Visual Reality group of JNU's College of Cyber Security, is the first authorand Mai Zijun, a postgraduate student in the group, the second author. This work was completed in cooperation with Assistant Prof. Huawei Tu and Prof. Henry Been-Lirn Duh of La Trobe University in Australia.
IEEE VR is an important international conference in computer graphics, leading future research direction in the field. It is listed as a class-A conference by the Chinese Computer Federation and regarded as one of the few top international conferences where Chinese scholars are encouraged to make breakthroughs. The research has received support from the National Natural Science Foundation Fund for Young Scholars and JNU's Central University Fund. The paper's publication represents significant improvement in that JNU's scientific research level and cultivation of young teachers and students under the strategy of high-level university construction.
