JNU announced the results of the Impressive Lingnan: Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area College Writing Competition on March 24. The competition was sponsored by the Guangdong Publishing Group and Southern Publishing and Media Co., Ltd.; undertaken by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Educational Exchange Center and the Huacheng Publishing House; and organized by Flower City magazine, Essay magazine, Hong Kong Literature magazine and the Macao Literary Critics Association.

In attendance were leaders from various publishing units in Guangdong Province; winners of the competition; JNU teachers and students; and journalists from the China News Agency, Yangcheng Evening News, Guangzhou Daily and the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone newspaper.

Deng Hong, deputy director of the Information Office of the Guangdong provincial government, and Ye He, deputy secretary of the of Guangdong publishing group's Party committee, spoke. After that, Li Yuehui, an actor in a Guangzhou opera company and recitation tutor at the Guangdong Cultural Center, recited the poem Salute Zhong Nanshan in Cantonese. 

Based on Lingnan culture, this competition was initially held to promote exchanges among students from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao by breaking the limits of time and space. Eighteen works stood out. Zhu Xiao, a student in JNU's Department of Chinese Language and Literature, won the only special prize. Chen Lihan, a student in the Chinese Language and Literature Department, and Chen Haohui of the University of Macao won first prizes. Zhong Yaozu won second prize, and Huang Zhen, Fu Qilin, Li Shuangru and Lin Ping won the third prizes. Zhu Furong, a contemporary poet, literary critic, editorial board member and artistic director of Guangdong Yangcheng Evening News Publishing House, spoke highly of the students from JNU’s Department of Chinese Language and Literature . It was because of the excellent performance of the students from the Chinese Language and Literature Department that Jinan University had the privilege of holding the awards ceremony.
