The English translation of Study on China's Multi-Ethnic Homologous Mythology, to be titled The Myths That Made a Nation, has been approved by the 2020 Chinese Academic Translation Project (CATP) of the National Social Science Fund of China. Jinan University Press and JNU's College of Foreign Studies jointly applied for the project – JNU's first such project to be approved.

Established by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences, CATP mainly funds outstanding Chinese academic works and their publication abroad. The book, published by JNU Press, tells the story of the Chinese nation's cohesion through multi-ethnic myths that share common elements. The book is part of the Series on Minority Literature: Perspectives from a Pluralistic and United Chinese Nation. It is also supported by National Publication Foundation and Guangdong Publishing.
