Eleven international students at JNU -- nine undergraduates and two postgraduates -- won 2020 Chinese Government Outstanding International Student Scholarships, announced by the Ministry of Education on March 2.
Of nearly 600 winners nationwide, JNU's number ranks among the top. The students come from New Zealand, Malaysia, Peru, India, Indonesia, Canada and Madagascar. Chen Zhuoya of the School of Economics is the first JNU undergraduate to win the Award of Merit accessible to all international students to apply.
Upholding the principle of international education, JNU sees that its international students keep pace with the Chinese mode of education and has passed Higher Education Accreditation for International Students in China. JNU currently has 3,741 international students from 125 countries.
