IESR's preparatory course is a collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Texas A&M University, the University of Arizona and the City University of New York in the United States, and Singapore Management University. After completing all pre-training courses, passing the assessment and meeting the overseas universities' language requirement, the students will enroll at the ones they choose this fall or next spring.
Assistant Prof. Lin Wei, who holds a Ph.D. in economics from Michigan State University, is teaching econometrics this semester. Outlining her requirements for the course before class, she told the students, “I hope you can operate the software STATA through the course and lay a solid foundation for a smooth transition to overseas curricula.”
With a mix of online and offline classes this semester, the students have had a fresh experience in face-to-face teaching.
