Chancellor Liu Chak Wan and President Joseph Hunwei Lee of Macao University of Science and Technology (MUST) visited JNU with Li Chong, vice mayor of the Zhuhai Municipal People's Government, on Feb. 23 to discuss cooperation between JNU and MUST. JNU President Song Xianzhong, Vice President Zhang Hong, and the heads of relevant departments and offices received the delegation.

Song extended a warm welcome and gave the delegation a detailed introduction to JNU's history and basic situation. He thanked Liu for his longstanding support to JNU as a member of its board.
Liu said he highly valued JNU's contribution to the cultivation of talents from Macao and described MUST's background and development. Lee gave further information on MUST's research strengths and future research vision.
Li said the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee and Government attached great importance to cooperation between Zhuhai and Macao. As the JNU-MUST cooperation is of great significance in the cooperation between Zhuhai and Macao and in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Li said he hoped the two universities could seize the opportunity and jointly build the education highland of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation and talent cultivation. They expressed their common desire to establish closer and more comprehensive cooperation.
