The overseas talent innovation team of JNU’s Institute of Photonics Technology has made significant progress in research on all-optical magnetic recording. Its paper “Dual-shot dynamics and ultimate frequency of all-optical magnetic recording on GdFeCo” was published in the journal Light: Science & Applications (IF=13.78). Wang Sicong, an associate researcher in the institute, is the first author and Li Xiangping, a researcher in the institute, and Prof. Alexey V. Kimel from Radboud University in the Netherlands are the corresponding authors.
The research was supported by the National Key Research and Development Program of China (program number: 2018YFB1107200), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (program number: 61975066; 11604123) and the Guangdong Provincial Creative Entrepreneurship Team Program (program number: 2016ZT06D081)
Wang, who researches vector light field control and all-optical magnetic recording, has published more than 20 papers in journals including Light: Science & Applications, Optics Letters, Applied Physics Letters and Optics Express. He was selected for the Second Level of JNU Outstanding Young Talents in the JNU Top 200 Talents Plan, and he is now in charge of five scientific programs in the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Youth Science Foundation Program and the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province and other programs.
