The fourth China Intellectual Property and Competition Law Forum and the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Guangdong and Hubei Provincial Research Association on Competition Law was held in Guangzhou on Nov. 28 and 29.
This forum, under the guidance of the Competition Law Professional Committee of the Economic Law Research Association of China Law Society, was jointly sponsored by the Anti-Monopoly and Anti-Unfair Competition Law Research Association of the Guangdong Law Society and the Competition Law Research Association of Hubei Law Society. Organized by JNU's Competition Law and Industrial Development Research Center and Wuhan University's Intellectual Property and Competition Law Institute, it was undertaken by JNU's Law School/Intellectual Property School and Research and Evaluation Center for Fair Competition. More than 160 experts, scholars, judges, market supervision officials, lawyers and legal personnel attended.
Guo Zongjie, president of the Guangdong Province Law Society's Research Institute on Antitrust Law and Anti-Unfair Competition Law, and Ning Lizhi, president of Hubei Law Society's Research Institute on Competition Law, gave their annual reports.

The forum consisted of four main themes: the Civil Code; the revision and perfection of the Competition Law and the Antitrust Law; the development of the digital economy and the construction of the competition order; and the protection of intellectual property rights and free competition. From multiple dimensions, a lively discussion took place among nearly 100 experts, including Prof. Shi Jichun of Renmin University of China's Law School; Prof. Wang Xiaoye of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' Institute of Law; and Lu Yan, director of Development Research Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation.
