(Hao's lecture of cultural confidence)
Thoroughly explaining the connotation and significance of cultural confidence, Hao said he believed that, as China's socialist modernization had entered a new era, spiritual enjoyment had become increasingly important in the pursuit of a better life as material living standards improved. Hence, he said, strengthening cultural confidence and enriching spiritual life are new tasks in the new era.
In the final analysis, Hao said, cultural confidence is the confidence to value. Such confidence is a strong support for the path, theory, system and culture, and a solid foundation for upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Hao said the cultivation of this core value is inseparable from China's profound traditional culture, which has rich connotations, has carried the genes of Chinese nation for thousands of years, and is regarded as the origin of socialist core values. Learning and practice should be emphasized in cultivating core value, he said, and young people in the new era should apply socialist core values to their daily lives.
