JNU ranks 34th in China and 138th in Asia in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings Asia 2020, released Nov. 25. Its ranking in Asia has risen by 10 places over last year, indicating it is one of the Asian universities making great progress.
This year's ranking of the top Asian universities is the biggest comparative evaluation of the higher education system in Asia conducted by QS, assessing 650 institutions -- 18% more than last year. The rankings use 11 indicators: academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), student-to-faculty ratio (10%), international research network (10%), citations per paper (10%), papers per faculty member (5%), staff members with Ph.D.s (5%), international faculty members (2.5%), international students (2.5%), outbound exchange students (2.5%) and inbound exchange students (2.5%).
QS World University Rankings is recognized as one of the four most authoritative world university rankings and highly respected worldwide.
