JNU and Hochschule Trier (Trier University of Applied Sciences) in Germany signed an international cooperation agreement online on Oct. 26. Participating were Stefan Diemer, vice president of Hochschule Trier; JNU Vice President Zhang Hong; the heads of the Faculty of Environmental Economics and Law, the Center for Terrestrial Research and the International Office from Hochschule Trier; and the heads of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the Institute of Cultural Heritage and Creative Industries and the Faculty of Environment from JNU. Zhang and Diemer signed the agreement.
Zhang gave a brief introduction to JNU and said it maintained good cooperation with many prestigious universities in Germany, including Heidelberg University, the University of Würzburg and TU Dresden. He said he hoped that the Memorandum of Understanding and the student exchange agreement would start a new chapter in the cooperation between JNU and Hochschule Trier.
Diemer then gave basic information about Hochschule Trier and its Environmental Campus Birkenfeld. He said that the university had always attached great importance to its cooperation with China and has maintained academic exchanges and mutual visits with Chinese partners in various fields. He added that he hoped to take this opportunity to launch new cooperation with Jinan University in more disciplines.
The two universities have discussed possible cooperation in environmental science, sustainable development, use of resources and the cultural heritage creative industry. They plan to carry out exchanges and cooperation on a wider and deeper scale.
