37 JNU subjects enter Best Chinese Subjects Ranking 2020

JNU has 37 first-level subjects listed in the Best Chinese Subjects Ranking 2020, released on Oct. 15 by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, tying for 22nd place with Harbin Industrial University and Shenzhen University. Among the 4,946 subjects from 485 universities on the ranking list, six JNU subjects ranked in the top 10%: journalism and communication, ecology, pharmacy, Chinese language and literature (top 5%), business administration (top 5%) and applied economics.
Thirteen JNU subjects ranked in the top 20 among universities in China:
•Journalism and communication ranked sixth nationwide and first in Guangdong.
•Ecology ranked eighth nationwide and second in Guangdong.
•Pharmacy ranked eighth nationwide and first in Guangdong.
•Chinese language and literature ranked ninth nationwide and first in Guangdong.
•Business administration and political science each ranked 13th nationwide and second in Guangdong.
•Applied economics ranked 14th nationwide and first in Guangdong.
•Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine ranked 14th nationwide and third in Guangdong.
•Chinese history and cyberspace security each ranked 15th nationwide and second in Guangdong.
•Traditional Chinese medicine ranked 17th nationwide and second in Guangdong.
•Theoretical economics and statistics ranked 20th nationwide and first in Guangdong.
•Statistics ranked 20th nationwide and third in Guangdong.

In the 2020 list, Guangdong has seven subjects ranked in the top 2%, 24 in the top 5%, 72 in the top 10% and 327 in the top 50%, ranking seventh, sixth, fourth and fourth nationwide, respectively.
