JNU's neuroscience and behavior discipline is in the top 1% of the ESI Global Rankings, released on Sept. 10 by the American Essential Science Indicator database, bringing the number of JNU disciplines in the ESI's top 1% to 12.
The others are clinical medicine; chemistry; engineering; pharmacology and toxicology; materials science; biology and biochemistry; agricultural sciences; environment/ecology; plant and animal science; molecular biology and genetics; and social sciences, general.

The number has increased to 12 from four in 2015 since JNU's pharmacy discipline was selected as a national double first-class discipline and JNU became one of the key high-level universities in Guangdong.
