Seven works by JNU's School of Journalism and Communication were shortlisted for the finals and three won prizes in the second Resilient Visions International Film Festival in Seattle, which had its final viewing ceremony on June 11. The award-winners were selected through audiences' online voting.
Of JNU's three award-wining works, A Mountain Village During the COVID-19 Outbreak won second prize, and Xin Gong Lao and We Are the Same won third prize.
Resilient Visions is an international university film festival launched by the University of Washington in 2019. It is committed to displaying the creativity and resilience of the global community through media creations such as videos. This festival, with nearly 80 entries, attracted not only students from American universities and colleges, but also students from JNU and Shih Hsin University in Taipei.

We've learned much from your excellent works, said Minda Martin, the University of Washington professor who initiated the festival, at the awards ceremony. In fact, you're all winners, and we are looking forward to a more brilliant festival next year.”
After the ceremony, at the invitation of the festival's organizing committee, Rana San, artistic director of the Northwest Film Forum, and David Berliner, senior filmmaker, had a lively discussion with the creators of the shortlisted works and some audience members. The organizers also joined students from three universities in an online symposium on the entries. The teachers and students actively expressed their views on the theme, creation ideas, cultural background and viewing experience. Directors of the award-wining works answered questions and talked [Tell stories can also be an idiom that means lying.][I see,Thank you very much]about their topic selection and filmmaking. The teachers and students agreed that the festival gave them a good opportunity for international exchange.
As a sponsor of the festival, Asian American TV will broadcast some of the works to promote cultural interaction between Chinese and American youth.
