JNU's Faculty of Medical Science and the First People's Hospital of Zhaoqing held the signing ceremony for a new training base for medical students' in Zhaoqing on June 3.

At the ceremony, Ma Min, executive director of JNU's Graduate School, read out The Official Reply on Approving the First People's Hospital of Zhaoqing as the Joint Postgraduate Training Base of Jinan University. Luo Liangping, director of JNU's Faculty of Medical Science, and Chen Haobo, director of the First People's Hospital of Zhaoqing, signed the joint construction agreement. In his speech, Chen said the hospital would improve the construction of the training base, strengthen teaching management, and provide sufficient teaching and research facilities based on national medical education policy and JNU's teaching requirements. He encouraged the students to cherish the opportunity to study at the training base and improve not only their medical knowledge, but also their ways of scientific thinking and research. He also said he hoped that they could gain a better education as well as make greater academic achievements in their courses and contribute to the hospital's sustainable development.
JNU Vice President Wang Bing gave a brief introduction to the university's history and the current situation of its Faculty of Medical Science. He said he considered the training base a significant one, since it can make full use of the resources of JNU's medical discipline to cultivate more talents for Zhaoqing's medical service and marks the start of future cooperation between the university and the city in medicine, education and scientific research. Wang said he believed the combination of JNU's high-quality medical educational resources and the hospital's rich clinical resources would benefit both.
