Jinan University and California Baptist University signed online a Joint Education Agreement in Food Discipline on May 28.
Though mutual visits have been suspended because of Covid-19, JNU Vice President Zhang Hong said the exchange and cooperation should not be stopped. Larry Linamen, CBU's vice president for global initiatives, said he hoped that the project would be launched soon after the signing.
Leaders of the two universities have been discussing ways to cooperate at different levels during visits since 2016. In March 2019, JNU and CBU signed the Memorandum of Understanding to set up a framework for future cooperation. The Joint Education Agreement is intended to make cutting-edge science and research more accessible to excellent JNU graduate students. Undergraduates in JNU’s International School and the College of Science and Engineering’s Department of Food Science and Engineering will have access to study for the M.S. in nutrition and food science in the United States in their senior year.
