All of JNU's degree authorization units qualified in the 2014-2019 evaluations and the special assessments in 2019, according to the State Council's Degree Office and the Ministry of Education.

Among 35 JNU degree authorization units that participated in this round of assessment, nine were randomly selected and evaluated by the education administration department, and 100% proved qualified. Four disciplines authorized to offer doctoral programs -- applied economics, journalism and communication, biomedical engineering and business administration -- were assessed by the State Council's Degree Office. Two disciplines authorized to offer master's programs -- materials science and engineering, and information and communication engineering -- were evaluated by the Guangdong Provincial Degree Committee Office, as were the master of law, master of Chinese international education and master of accounting programs.
Other participating degree authorization units were identified as qualified based on the school's self-assessments. At the same time, two authorization units, for master's degrees in pharmacy and public health, participated in the special evaluation of degree authorization units in 2019, and both qualified.
The evaluation results indicate that JNU's degree authorization units have met the requirements for doctoral degree authorization units in management systems：faculty, teaching and research conditions; learning style, and cultivation of highly skilled talents. They also indicate the construction of JNU's graduate education and degree authorization units has sustained healthy development.
In this nationwide evaluation, 2,251 degree authorization units have been assessed as qualified, 8 units as unqualified, and 33 units to be urged to rectify within a time limit.”
