The Second Medical and Health Development Forum of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), co-hosted by Jinan University and Boya Biopharmaceutical Group, was held in the International Conference Hall of JNU’s Zeng Xianzi Science Building on Nov. 8. In attendance were over 300 people, including leaders of the health administrative departments of Guangdong and Macao; heads of medical industry associations, medical colleges and institutions in the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao; and representatives from the biomedical and health industry.
With the theme “Co-Building and Sharing a Healthy Greater Bay Area,” the forum focused on the frontiers of medical research and practice. Topics included “Quality Medical and Health Resources Cooperation of the GBA,” “Joint Training and Exchange of Medical and Health Talents” and “Co-Building and Sharing a Healthy GBA.” In thematic reports, experience exchanges and postgraduate subforums, it also provided a platform for academic discussion and talent development among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng said more than 80% of medical practitioners in Macao were JNU alumni, and 21 JNU alumni among Hong Kong medical practitioners were academicians of the Royal College of Medicine. He said he hoped the Faculty of Medical Science could integrate and optimize resources to build a better Jinan Medical Department by giving full play to the collaborative advantages of the medical education and research at JNU hospitals, teaching hospitals and medical postgraduate training base.

The opening ceremony included the awards ceremony of the First JNU Excellent Hospital Dean, the inauguration ceremony of the Guangzhou Key Laboratory of Molecular and Functional Imaging Clinical Transformation, and the appointment ceremony of the Academic Committee.
