The first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation Exchange Meeting was held in Nansha, Guangzhou, on Dec. 9. Concentrating on the regulation standardization in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, experts from various fields discussed policy bottlenecks and breakthrough ideas for the standardization of regulations among the three regions and promoted the establishment of a platform for the liaison and requirement feedback on the regulations to serve the development of the Greater Bay Area.

Nansha, a district of Guangzhou, and JNU will jointly set up a special working group for the process. Each year there will be four sessions of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation and exchange activities, with scholars and association representatives from relevant fields invited. The sessions will promote the standardization of regulations and systems among Nansha, Hong Kong and Macao and accelerate the realization of connection, communication and integration.
A series of outcomes from the meeting was published, including the establishment of the Training and Research Base for International Production Capacity Cooperation and the JNU Academic, Employment and Entrepreneurship Base for Hong Kong and Macao Youth. In addition, the administrative committee of the Nansha development zone and JNU signed the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation between JNU and the Administrative Committee of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Nansha Area of Guangzhou, as well as the Cooperative Agreement Promoting the Construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory by JNU and the Administrative Committee of Nansha Development Zone. The administrative committee of the Nansha development zone also signed, along with the Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation, the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement between the Administrative Committee of Guangzhou Nansha Development Zone and the Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation. Representatives of law firms in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao signed the Cooperation Agreement of Kingbridge & Sun Lawyers LLP & Kuang Yuqiu (Nansha) Joint Venture Law Firm.
In the subsession “Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Regulations Standardization: Intellectual Property and Legal Services,” participants discussed regulations standardization in fields like financial insurance, social security, property management, intellectual property and legal services.
