The Finals of the Students of Five Continents Chinese Talent Competition 2019 were held at JNU on May 11. The joint performance “Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon” by “Five Flavors of Sugar” and “EmptySpaceCrew” showed the interaction of Guangdong folk music, Chinese classic dance and street dance. Later, Deng Wenxin and “JNU Crew” sang and danced, impressing the audience with “Opera Parliament,” in which the old Shanghai modern style encountered the sonorous singing style of Peking opera. “Playing with Festival Lanterns” was a crossover performance by “JNU Diaboloer” and “Flying Wind.” Traditional opera elements, the spirituality of diabolo and lively Chinese classic dance complemented one another.

The competition was a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of Macao’s return. The competition also contributed to the construction of campus culture with overseas Chinese school’s characteristics and imparting knowledge and educating people.
The competition, which created a pluralistic and inclusive campus cultural atmosphere, attracted wide attention through the Five Continents s competition, full coverage from school media and multi-platform voting. It also educated and guided JNU students to tell Chinese stories and disseminate China’s voice more positively with a stronger sense of responsibility and mission, spreading traditional Chinese culture to the world.
