Commendation Conference Celebrates Teacher's Day at JNU

A Commendation Conference to celebrate the 35th Teacher's Day was held in the auditorium on JNU's Shipai campus on Sept. 9.
The conference consisted of four parts: a Teacher's Day commendation ceremony, an retirement ceremony, a commemorative ceremony on the 30th working anniversary of the JNU faculty and an oath-taking ceremony for the new faculty members. The conference delivered congratulation, a salute, gratitude and welcome to the JNU teachers.

In addition to publishing the name list of the sixth JNU President's Awards for Undergraduate Teaching, the conference commended advanced individuals and groups who achieved significant results, made great contributions, received awards for education research or received recognition from their superiors in the 2018-19 school year.

JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng spoke on behalf of JNU's party committee, extending festive greetings and respect to all current and retired teachers. He said JNU made new achievements and breakthroughs in various fields last year，including party-building, scientific research, talent-training, faculty management and comprehensive strength in school operations, while also facing new challenges. He said he hoped all faculty members would take the establishment of high moral values and talent-cultivation as the fundamental task of education, adhering to the idea of lifelong learning and the unity of knowledge and action.

This year is the first time JNU has held the commemorative ceremony to salute faculty members who have worked at the school for 30 years or more. The ceremony is to be held annually in the future.
