JNU signed strategic cooperation agreements on April 2 with four state-owned banks -- Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), Bank of China (BOC) and China Construction Bank (CCB) Guangdong branches -- to further raise JNU's informatization level, help build a high-standard Smart Campus and improve JNU's overall teaching quality.
According to the arrangement, JNU and the banks will jointly carry out the Smart Campus project by building a new platform for finance and education. The banks will provide JNU with high-quality, efficient financial services; support JNU in creating Smart Campus programs; accelerate information technology to better serve JNU's teaching and scientific research, management, and innovation of systems and mechanisms; and achieve win-win development for all parties.
As one of the first universities to join the China Education and Research Network, JNU has attached great importance to constructing a digital campus. Since JNU was re-established in Guangzhou in 1958, the four banks have offered great support and assistance, especially financial support and guarantees in talent-training, student employment and entrepreneurship, scholarships, work-study, grants and loans, information construction, and alumni career development.
“In the information age, JNU will continue to build a new high-tech digital campus with intelligence and information,” said Lin Rupeng, JNU party secretary and vice president. This cooperation, he said, will build a new platform to support universities financially; vigorously speed up JNU's Internet and Education development; and continuously improve the level of campus informatization.
