Eleven JNU courses were selected as 2018 National Top-Quality Online Open Courses, according to the Ministry of Education, bringing JNU's total to 13.

According to the National Top-Quality Online Open Courses website, among 2,137 qualified courses, 801 were recognized. JNU ranks first among the 22 courses selected from Guangdong universities and colleges, and ninth in China.

Since JNU’s presented it first online open courses in 2015, it has accumulated rich experience by actively exploring the mode of course construction, application and promotion. As of December 2018, JNU had launched 32 online courses, which are taken by over 1.15 million students in total, and 12 courses have more than 10,000 students each.
