JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng and President Song Xianzhong each led a research group to inspect safety management and epidemic prevention at key sites such as laboratories, student dormitories, refectories and restaurants, and affiliated schools on April 21 and 22.

Lin stressed that, first, measures should be taken to ensure laboratory safety, including daily management and experimental safety education and assessment for faculty members and students. Second, under the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Department of Education, dietary hygiene management should be emphasized throughout the Covid-19 epidemic. In addition, intensive monitoring, guidance and appropriate arrangements should be offered to diners in the canteens, and stringent control should be implemented in procuring, storing and processing food to ensure its safety. Third, to ensure campus security and stability, arrangements made by higher government authorities should be resolutely implemented, with special attention to safety in fire control, transportation and construction.
Song attached importance to online courses in the rest of the semester and epidemic prevention in crowded areas such as canteens, dormitories, libraries and laboratories. In particular, he said, regular safety inspections of laboratories should be strictly conducted.
