Science foundation approves 12 JNU projects

JNU has received support for 12 projects among the third and fourth batches of projects in 2018 announced by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). They include one National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, one Major Project, three NSFC-Key Projects of Guangdong Joint Fund, one NSFC- Guangdong Joint Fund Integrated Project, one NSFC-Shanxi Coal-Based Low-Carbon Joint Fund Cultivation Project, one Major Research Incubation Project, one NSFC-FDCT (The Science and Technology Development Fund) Project, one NSFC-DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) Project and two Emergency Management Projects.
JNU submitted 992 projects of various types to the NSFC in 2018, of which 247 have been approved. They have received a total of 129.6 million yuan in direct funds, with JNU ranking the third in Guangdong in total direct funds.
The Youth Science Foundation has approved 134 JNU projects, making the university 15th in China in number of projects, and the funding rate has reached 30.45%, second only to Tsinghua University. Fifteen remarkable major projects received direct funding of 41.912 million yuan, an increase of 133.75% over the same period in 2017
