JNU's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Institute of CNS Regeneration has been approved to launch three major scientific and technological projects in the field of brain science and brain-inspired intelligence technology, with total funding of 40 million yuan, in the project list of the 2020 Municipal Research and Development Plan for Key Areas, released by the Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. The projects are Study on Periphera-Central Mechanism of Exercise Improvement in Cognitive Impairment by Academician Su Guohui; Study on Standardization of Large Animal Models With Spinal Cord and Optic Nerve Injury by Prof. Zhou Libing; and Preparation and Study of Monkey Models with Transgenic Alzheimer's Disease by Prof. Yan Sen. Of the 13 projects approved in the field, with total funding of 158 million yuan, JNU also participated in two research projects. JNU has the highest number of approved projects and amount of approved funds in Guangzhou, reflecting the achievements of JNU's double first-class construction and key development in the field of brain science in recent years.
