Twenty-four JNU science and technology innovation projects have been approved by the Guangdong Provincial Special Fund for Science and Technology Innovation Strategy, known as the Climbing Plan special fund, the China Communist Youth League Committee of Guangdong has announced. They include nine key projects with a total of 645,000 yuan from the special fund. The number of approved projects and the special fund both reached record highs.
Since the Guangdong Climbing Plan special fund was established in 2015, 1,076 projects have applied, with more than 5,000 students participating through extensive publicity and active organization by the Youth League Committee. To date, 129 JNU projects have been approved, including 33 key projects, with a special fund of 3,075,000 yuan.

With the joint support of the China Communist Youth League of Guangdong and JNU and the continuous efforts of the project team, JNU's Climbing Plan projects have achieved fruitful results. Since 2015, 171 papers have been published, of which 115 have been included in SCI and EI, and 37 have been published in Chinese core journals; twenty-six invention patents, thirty-four utility model patents and three computer software copyrights have been approved. In the Guangdong Challenge Cup competition, the approved projects have won 11 grand prizes, thirteen first prizes, five second prizes, and seven third prizes; in the national Challenge Cup, the approved projects have won one first prize, four second prizes and two third prizes.
