A team of three juniors from JNU's College of Cyber Security -- Ye Haizhou, Wang Jiawei and Huang Jianhui -- won 10th place in the annual ACM SIGMOD Programming Contest under the guidance of Associate Prof. Zhang Jilian.
The contest had 53 teams representing famous universities in China and abroad. The JNU_Cyber team took fourth place among domestic teams and 10th overall. It promoted the spirit of striving for the best and working hard for innovation during the competition with teams of data science major postgraduates and doctoral students.
Started in 1970, ACM SIGMOD is an academic conference for the Special Interest Group on Management of Data in a series run by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). SIGMOD is internationally acknowledged as the international conference with the highest academic status in its field. The annual topic of the ACM SIGMOD Programming Contest is originated from the sorts of data management challenges the industry encounters. The contest aims to promote academic exchanges among postgraduates and doctoral candidates in data science from universities and scientific research institutes worldwide, and to improve the ability to address practical issues.
