Prof. Long Jinyi's team from the College of Information Science and Technology's Department of Computer Science has published two papers on IEEE Virtual Reality (VR) 2020 (http://ieeevr.org/2020/about/) and gave a plenary lecture via online video conference.
 

Nineteen regular papers were received from scholars and academic units in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao. Long's team contributed a regular paper titled Transfer of Coordination Skill to the Unpracticed Hand in Immersive Environments. An interactive system similar to games explores the influence of visual feedback on the transfer of coordination skills, proposing a new method for the learning and rehabilitation of coordination skills of hemiplegic hands in stroke patients. This work has been further verified in stroke patients by cooperation with the Rehabilitation Department of JNU's First Affiliated Hospital. Xiao Shan, a postgraduate student, is the first author.

Long’s team also contributed a poster paper, Hand Motion With Eyes-Free Interaction for Authentication in Virtual Reality. This new eyes-free user authentication for virtual reality allows users to conduct multitask interaction while authenticating. According to the preliminary results, this method can better balance security and convenience in virtual environment interactions. Lu Yujun, a postgraduate, is the first author.

IEEE Virtual Reality (VR) is an important international conference in the field of computer graphics and multimedia, organized by IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and recommended by the Chinese Computer Federation as a class-A international academic conference. The two JNU papers have received support from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Guangdong Natural Science Fund and the Central University Fund.
