After successfully assembling the coordination disk-type nano-Saturn complex, [Cu10(Mim)10]⊃C60(Chem. Commun., 2020, 56, 3325), under one-pot solvothermal conditions, Prof. Li Dan's research team in JNU's College of Chemistry and Materials Science has made a new breakthrough in the research of C60@Cu24 Rhombicuboctahedron(J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2020, 142, 5943), presented by the exohedral cuprofullerene with 24-nuclearity that has a core–shell structure and represents the highest nuclearity in metallofullerene.

With the cooperation of Shantou University, the article on the findings was published in the Journal of American Chemical Society. The corresponding co-authors are Li Dan and Zhan Shun Ze, an associate professor at Shantou University.
