A JNU program has been awarded the First Prize in Teaching Achievement, the Guangdong Bureau of Education announced on March 17.
The program, titled The Innovation Practice of Cultivating '5A-Excellence' Journalism and Communication Personnel of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao, targets the huge need and prominent problems in the cultivation of journalism talents in the Greater Bay Area. It has formed and practiced an innovative 5A-Excellence framework that is people-, goal-, academic-, profession- and innovation-oriented. Its positive effects have put JNU on the leading edge of journalism training among colleges and universities in China.
In terms of promoting internationalization, this achievement has further established leading professional standards and international experience in journalism talent cultivation. In promoting regional integration, it has found a distinctive way to teach the diverse students from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, who have the same origin but different backgrounds in basic education, in accordance with their aptitudes. In promoting teaching innovation, it has taken advantage of new media, which have brought great changes in media patterns and communication modes, reforms in the communication of new ideas, and impact on traditional journalism education.
