A JNU delegation led by Vice President Zhang Hong visited Suriname and Cuba by invitation from Dec. 8 to 15. During the visit, JNU had a work symposium with Anton de Kom University in Suriname and signed new framework agreements with the University of Havana and Technological University of Havana, representing JNU's first agreement with Cuban universities.
In addition, JNU signed an admission agreement with the Suriname Chinese United Association and the Suriname Chinese Cultural Arts Center. Zhang also visited JNU's admission point in Cuba, the Cuban Chinese Association, to explore the lives of Cuban Chinese. The delegation visited two high schools in Suriname and discussed cooperation issues in detail.

During the visit, the JNU delegation carried out more than 10 activities. In terms of initiating research and development of natural plants, overseas enrollment, joint cultivation of doctoral students, cooperative scientific research and other aspects, JNU conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges and reached consensus with foreign units, further deepening its international cooperation in Central and South America. This cooperation has benefited the construction and development of double first-class disciplines, overseas enrollment and training, and the construction of JNU's Latin America Center.
