The fourth forum on the Health and Development of the Floating Population, co-sponsored by JNU and the Migrant Population Service Center of the National Health Commission, was held in Beijing on Dec. 7. The forum aimed to promote the development of foating population,”people who reside in a place temporarily for various reasons, and to support the Healthy China Initiative.
Among the speakers was Wang Peian, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, deputy director of its Committee on Population, Resources and Environment and executive vice president of the China Family Planning Association. He pointed out that China should take a targeted approach to upgrade policies, innovate mechanisms, facilitate services and ensure the health the family development capacity of the floating population to support the Healthy China Initiative.
JNU Vice President Zhang Hong, a member of the standing committee of the JNU Party Committee, spoke on Several Focal Points for the Implementation of Healthy China Initiative.”
This forum consisted of five sub-forums: development achievements and application of data on the floating population; social integration and family development of the floating population; extending health technology services; childcare services; and intelligent medicine and clinical rehabilitation. More than 70 experts, scholars and practitioners spoke.
