An admissions delegation from JNU held an information session in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, on Dec. 4 to announce the university's admission policies for overseas Chinese and answer questions on the spot. The event was organized with the assistance of the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh.
At the event, JNU awarded the association a license qualifying it to enroll students in Bangladesh. Attending were Shi Xiaohua, the Chinese consul in Bangladesh; Feng Xiaorong, vice president of the association; and overseas Chinese.
(Invited guests explaining relevant policies)
Huang Yuexiong, director of JNU's Office of Admission, gave a detailed introduction to the university's development history, academic advantages and enrollment policies for overseas Chinese students. Participants consulted the delegation about requirements for enrollment, professional choices and future employment for students.
With tens of thousands of Chinese working and living in Bangladesh, an important country along the Belt and Road, and more and more children following their parents to live and study in Bangladesh, education has become a concern for many parents. Through such publicity activities, participants said, they can better understand the support of mainland colleges and universities for the education of overseas Chinese, and help them feel at ease in their entrepreneurial development abroad.
